  2. Juliet Says:

Is there a Gold Coast SNB? I would love to be involved but a local group would be great. any info on one?
    Thanks
    Juliet

  3. janefeebles Says:

I haven’t heard of one Juliet, although someone from the Gold Coast once visited us for a night. We got this group up and running by advertising on craftster and knitty and stitch and bitch websites. When we had enough people to commit (4 the first time) we just started

  4. Erica expat Kiwi Says:

Keen as to come by and join the bitchin and stichin after deprivation of such a group in my little region back in NZ that comprised of 3 nanas talking about the cost of rubbish bags and how horrible their ex-husbands were. No surprise they all left… hee hee cruel I know!

  5. Miss_Vicki Says:

You’ll be right with us Erica. I don’t think any of us are divorcees as yet. :-)

  6. Erica expat Kiwi Says:

Am I right in thinking that Three monkeys is the place to be or am I going to a pub? Will be there next week.

  7. Miss_Vicki Says:

Yup. The Three Monkeys Erica. The pub was just that one week.

  8. Erica expat kiwi Says:

Sorry darlings but will not be there tonight. No car and feeling like rubbish- also kinda scared of the motorway in town as I have only been here a week. Not a huge issue but it is a walk in from Ipswitch. Will do a wee dry run in and will be sweet to meet you all very soon. My little babies first tattoo cardi is going so well though! Have a great night and throw a water bomb at the idiot on the story bridge for me. Erica.

  9. Valerie Says:

Hi – I would like to check out your group – sounds good. Are you still getting together this Tues. at 3 Monkeys (May 1st)? Do you care how old I am? Not a spring chicken but hate the idea of sitting around with a bunch of granny-types! I don’t know many people in Brissie and just want to meet people who share a common interest.

  10. Miss_Vicki Says:

Hi Valerie, yeah we still meet. We have a range of ages covered, but no granny types yet though. I am certain we would welcome them too though, it is all about the yarn! :-) I am sure if you like makin’ stuff you could find a place with us.

  11. Rachael Says:

Is there room for one more to visit on Tuesday Night?

  12. Miss_Vicki Says:

    Sure is Rachael.

  13. Alex Says:

Is this group still running, and is there room for a knitting newbie? I work in West End so it would be super convenient…

  14. Miss_Vicki Says:

Sure is Alex, we are always there.

  15. Liz Says:

    G’day everyone,

Just a note to say the inaugural Toowoomba SnB group will be meeting at 10am on Saturday 4 August, Cafe Forte, Margaret Street, Tooowoomba.

If anyone wants further info, dont hesitate to email me on huline@austarnet.com.au or phone on 0407 373092.

    Cheers

    Liz

  16. Kate Says:

Hi there! I am so excited that there is a SnB night in Brissy. I’ve just moved back home after 4 years OS and have plenty of knitting to do! Exciting! See you at the cafe.

  17. janefeebles Says:

Sorry I missed the Toowoomba SnB I had my family in town. Did anyone go? Was it fun??
And Hi Kate! We are having a field trip this week (8th August) to a yarn supplier’s studio to drool over huge skeins of yarn.
We are meeting in front of the cafe at 7 and then car pooling over to Kenmore. Hope we see you there, or else another week!

  18. nitrojane Says:

    i feel incompetent.

how the hell do i add myself to this thingy? It may have taken me over a year, but i did set up a wordpress account. And now i want to post.

    BAH!

  19. Miss_Vicki Says:

I think have to be added, rather than adding yourself. I will try to do it, but as I haven’t tried it before I am unsure if I have the access. I’ll let you know how I do.

  20. Grace Says:

Will you be meeting this Tuesday, New Year’s Day? And will you have room for one or two more?

  21. janefeebles Says:

Sorry Grace, the 3 monkeys was closed New Year’s Day.
We’ll be meeting up again for 2008 on the 8th- and we always have room!

  22. Jaimie Says:

    Hi,
I’m an expat Aussie in New Zealand who will likely be returning to Brisbane for two weeks in March – meaning I’ll miss my two usual groups. Can I come and join you once (maybe twice if I’m lucky)?

Where in the three monkeys do you usually sit – out the back?

Finally… are you welcoming of guys? I totally respect women-only space but would also prefer not to head over there and then discover that it wasn’t appropriate for me to be there.

  23. MissVicki Says:

    Hiya Jaimie,

I know we would all love to have you. Yes we do usually sit right up the back, but sometimes when there is a big Birthday party booking they put us up in the front room.

Whilst we are definitely not a women-only group, our male attendance figures are right down. So please come and visit us to tip the balance some, if even for only a week.

  24. Hey there! How do I join the community? Also, a knitting friend and I am hoping to tag along to this Tuesday’s meeting.

  25. Becc Says:

I too am gonna try and get along tomorrow night…. Tried once before and wasn’t able to find yas, but this time I’m determined! I haven’t knit anything in a sad six months since I got home from overseas and left my last s’n'b; it’s time to meet the local talent and break the (lack of) habit. :) I’m just gonna rock up at the appropriate time and place and hope it’s okay since it’s such short notice and also, judging by the above, I may need some advice on how the “joining” thing works! Hopefully will find you all there! :)

  26. Miss_Vicki Says:

That is precisely how it works. Just rock on up. The last few weeks we have been assigned a table just inside the door, so if we are there agin you will not have any trouble finding us. Perhaps it is time we went back to the old ways and employed the big-ball-of-yarn-stuck-with-needles-as-a-centrepiece trick? You know, for easy identification.

  27. Elle Says:

got room for one more? i might wander over next tuesday, been meaning to for some time now!

  28. Miss_Vicki Says:

We always have room for one more!

  29. Gabby Says:

    Hi All,

Miss-Vicki and fellow SnBers…when’s your next get together? After Easter sometime? I’m at Ferny Grove…love to crochet and would like to come along to your SnB group.

  30. Jesika Says:

    Hello,

I just joined Ravelry and and found you in the groups section. I’d love to come to one of your nights. I noticed there hasn’t been a posting recently and was wondering if they’re still on. Looking forward to some group knittin’!
    Jesika

  31. Miss_Vicki Says:

    Hi Gabby, hI Jesika,

Meetings are still on. Every Tuesday at 7pm. Like clockwork, I promise. We are just bad bloggers is all. We are there every Tuesday, unless it really is not possible, like Christmas day last year, it was a Tuesday and so 3 Monkeys was not open. I am pretty sure that was the only Tuesday that has been skipped.

Look forward to seeing you both there.

  32. janefeebles Says:

Come along guys! Last week we had someone who was over from Italy for a conference join us. She told us fascinating stories of lacework purchase in Milan.

  33. Dada Says:

I found your website while looking for knitting/crocheting groups in Brisbane. I am keen to learn to knit. I have knitted in the past and learned the European way. I crochet far better (albeit only one pattern) than I knit. I’d love to get better at both but am a complete beginner (and slow to boot) who’s looking for someone to teach me. I’d love to learn how to make simple scarves, beanies, socks to give as presents and to make for the enjoyment of it. Is your group for me or am I better of going to specific knitting/crocheting classes? If so, can you recommend any, perhaps on the southside (I’m at Eight Mile Plains). Many thanks!

  34. janefeebles Says:

    Hi Dada

We’re happy to show you the ropes, and we love to knit and crochet (and spin and embroider and make bonbonier, whatever’s going) so it’s not a problem.
    Hope we see you sometime!

  35. Dada Says:

    Hi janefeebles

Thanks for letting me know. I would love to come along sometime and will try to do so soon. Winter is perfect weather for knitting and crocheting after all. The blanket I’m crocheting at the moment is big enough now to keep me warm like toast while I work on it :-)

  36. JacqBrisbane Says:

Hellooo, Tuesday is my yoga night at Core Yoga in West End, usually finished around 7.30pm. … How late do you stick around at ze 3Ms? Jacqueline

  37. MissVicki Says:

Hi Jacq, we can usually count on some of us still being there at 9:30pm, sometimes later.

  38. ne55pa Says:

    Hi,
I’d love to join your knitting blog, but I can’t figure out how. I have a wordpress account if that helps…?
    Cheers,
    Nesspa

  39. Alyssa Says:

    Hi there,

This is a test run, I’m with Nesspa in being clueless as to how to post on this. I’m newly obsessed with knitting, or that is I’ve taken it up again after 20 years and I’m happy to say I have now produced more than the doll’s scarf and weird bonnet things I did as a kid. Admittedly it is only a few beanies so far that don’t always fit their intended recipient but I’m getting there. I’d love to come along and be inspired by some seasoned knitters. Hope to meet you soon.
    Alyssa

  40. Miss_Vicki Says:

    Hi Alyssa, Hi Ne55pa,
To post on here, you need to have been given access. I think I am able to do that, but have been slack at getting around to working out just how. There is now a few Tuesday night regulars, that have not been set-up. Yes, it does help to have a wordpress account. In fact, it is a necessity.

In the meantime, I hope we get to meet you both at a Tuesday night (still at the Three Monkeys every week after 7pm) meet soon.

  41. Kay Says:

Hi I found this blog from a knitting website- am looking for someone to talk about stitch n bitch etc for an article for Kurb magazine- do any of your members live locally to Kelvin Grove, Spring Hill, Red Hill, Paddington, Newmarket etc? If so please email me back asap. My email is kaympicton@hotmail.com
    Cheers,

    Kay

  42. Danielle Hardgrove Says:

Hi there! I’ve just gotten into knitting (I’m a long-time cross-stitcher/sewer/crafter), and I’ve been eagerly looking for an SNB group to join, both for the companionship and to improve my craft.

Are you accepting new members – especially beginner knitters? How do I go about joining, if I may?

    Thanks for the info. :)

  43. Miss_Vicki Says:

    Hi Danielle,

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. We are always taking new members. You just show up and pull up a seat at our table, easy. We have all kinds of members, everyone is welcome and you can bring any of your other crafts too. Everyone will be glad to meet you and chat to you about your latest project, so I am sure you will find us friendly. Just look for the table of people getting crafty out the back of The Three Monkey’s cafe after 7pm any old Tuesday.

Look forward to seeing you there.

  44. Jennine Says:
