Miss Vicki actually finished something, SHOCK! June 18, 2007

I have been working on this at the last few meetings, (where were you all last week BTW?  I was nigelated) and on WWKIP day.  Well, I finally finished.  Presenting, my aviator scarf…

Yarn: 2 balls of Lincraft’s Lima, alpaca/synthetic blend.  Needles: Kinky 4mm bamboo circular.  Stitch: 2×2 diagonal rib.  Obligatory action shot, below…

Yeah :-) it really looks cool with my aviator cap (pattern from head huggers ladies, you know you want one).  Sorry about the dorky pic, it is hard to do on your own with a phone camera, so really I did well.  Sorta.

QUEENSLANDER!!!

Heh!  :-)   I scored this one at Lifeline Bookfest last Sunday, timely indeed.  Note the footy on the elbow, kinda like he is carrying one.  It is all in the details people.

A real lover’s knot June 5, 2007

I finally got around to dying some yarn with koolaid, and these are the results!

lover’s knot yarn

I used a mix of cherry, tropical punch and some naff flavour like strawberry kiwi which smelled foul. I can’t believe people ingest this stuff.
It was so easy, and came up so pretty! I got a bit of a tangle when winding the hanks, and my mother said ‘you’ve got a real lover’s knot there’, so that’s what I’ve called it.

I’m knitting it into a cabled beanie for my friend James, should be finished soon. And I will be dying with koolaid again. I need to get back into swaps so I can get a big haul from some yanks!
