I found a Daddo in my pattern book! Seriously, Patons knitting pattern book 772 For Men Only features our Cam. I’m talking front AND back cover here! Thanks guys for identifying him for me. I do find an Aussie TV personality among my patterns from time to time, but I had to be told who this was. I mean, I knew I had a celeb here, but I just couldn’t put my finger on it. In my defense, he is very young here. See for yourself;

Ta da!! Cameron Daddo. Ha ha

Tee hee. Sooo 80’s, I love it. Actually, this grey/pink cable number could work at the moment, but you’d need to be man enough to back it up I suppose. It could be quite metro, if ya know how to work it.
Now this last one, is not the worst in the book. Not by a long shot. But I want you all to take note of the yarn the pattern calls for.

Patons Caressa folks! This stuff is spiked with mohair. It is back in production these days, so if you feel the need to knit your man a purple fuzzy boat-necked sweater…
In case you have had too much, I’ll leave it there. But if you want more Daddo goodness don’t hesitate to make it known. Well over half the pics in this book are of young Cam, so there is plenty where that came from. There is a nice multi-textured number, think cables, bobbles and basket weave. And of course, there is bold intarsia aplenty.

So young and fresh, it was hard to recognise him…
You didn’t add the serious pose, tsk. I like that one
I can post it if ya like.
If the purple one isn’t the worst, what is? Would love to see pics of the other sweaters LOL.
Those are hysterical! I want to see more.
The purple pose is pretty stellar. No wonder he ended up marrying Dolly’s top model
Well, i actually knitted one of these Cameron Daddo jumpers (the one with arrows and rectangles) in the mid 80s for my husband, (then boyfriend). My 13 year old daughter (and I) are horrified that he is still wearing it today – in 2009!
