Happy Birthday SnB SUPER CHALLENGE! May 11, 2007

Filed under: General Chatter — janefeebles @ 6:30 pm

We realised a little late (but better than never) that we’ve been meeting for a year now! The first stitch and bitch was on April 18. I can’t remember what I was knitting but I had raisin toast and Crow Jane was working on a Nick Cave intarsia bag.

If anyone’s keen Ithink this is the perfect opportunity for  a snb challenge- let’s have cake! Even those who are with us in spirit can join the party. Knit or crochet a piece of cake for the Brisbane stitch and bitch and post it. I definitely won’t be making a cupcake, getting a little sick on that sweetness

Daddo spotted May 10, 2007

I found a Daddo in my pattern book!  Seriously, Patons knitting pattern book 772 For Men Only features our Cam.  I’m talking front AND back cover here!  Thanks guys for identifying him for me.  I do find an Aussie TV personality among my patterns from time to time, but I had to be told who this was.  I mean, I knew I had a celeb here, but I just couldn’t put my finger on it.  In my defense, he is very young here.  See for yourself;

Ta da!!  Cameron Daddo.  Ha ha :-)

Tee hee.  Sooo 80’s, I love it.  Actually, this grey/pink cable number could work at the moment, but you’d need to be man enough to back it up I suppose.  It could be quite metro, if ya know how to work it.

Now this last one, is not the worst in the book.  Not by a long shot.  But I want you all to take note of the yarn the pattern calls for.

Patons Caressa folks!  This stuff is spiked with mohair.  It is back in production these days, so if you feel the need to knit your man a purple fuzzy boat-necked sweater…

In case you have had too much, I’ll leave it there.  But if you want more Daddo goodness don’t hesitate to make it known.  Well over half the pics in this book are of young Cam, so there is plenty where that came from.  There is a nice multi-textured number, think cables, bobbles and basket weave.  And of course, there is bold intarsia aplenty.
