Miss Vicki blocks for the first time February 27, 2007

Well, OK, I know a pic of something blocking on my ironing board is not cool.  But the point is I have an FO.  Yeah!!  :-)   I am very pleased with myself and want to share.  But so far all my attempts at photography this week have all been shameful.  I have concluded that I will just have to find a model for this one.  In the meantime, here is a shot of some lace.

My Vintage Style Capelet.  Pattern from Spun Magazine http://www.spunmag.com/article/050410vintagecapelet , knit in Panda Mohair/Wool Tweed Aran, an op shop purchase in a nice shade of teal (despite appearances to the contrary above).

I think we’ve finally found a new home Ms Hooker February 13, 2007

Tonight the attending members at snb (Miss Vicky and myself) decided to leave the 3 monkeys and case the Shamrock Hotel as a possible licenced stitch and bitch venue, and we think it might work!

It was open, quietish, has comfy couches and BEER!!

So next week, 20th of Feb, we’re going to have our meeting at the Shamrock hotel in Fortitude Valley, on the corner of Brunswick and St Paul’s Tce. Same time 7pm.  The entrance is along the side on Brunswick st, next to the Arena

There weren’t any dodgy people, or crusty old men in stubbies and thongs or topless maids or anything like that, the bar has cleaned itself up a bit. If you’ve ever been to Black Fag, it’s the same place but downstairs.

I hope we see a few of you there, it will be fun! We could even mix it up if it passes approval with y’all, and we could meet in the pub on the first Tuesday of the month, and 3 monkeys the other weeks to keep up the addiction to overblown cheesecake we’ve all developed

I decided that, seeing as the post rate is a little slow here at the moment, I needed to post something.  So here you go, another snortle post for you all my dears.  Maybe I ought to do something more constructive, but instead I have fished out this specimen from one of my old crochet books.

Yup, I am aware this whole ensemble is knittedI don’t know how it came to be there.  I suppose if I HAD to wear hot pants, and they HAD to be fashioned out of yellow yarn, then I would prefer knitted ones over crocheted.  That is fair right?

Once again I need to apologize for the picture quality here, I’ll get better I promise.

Thing I love best about this pic (and possibly not something one ought to admit so publicly), I had sunnies exactly like these when I was in high school.
